Some positions require occasional travel to our northern bases to support operations. Others follow a rotational schedule, where you work in the North for two or three weeks at a time, then return South for a rest period that varies depending on the role and the base. In these positions, the work takes place directly in the North, offering an immersive, cultural, and deeply human experience.
Yes! Air Inuit supports continuous training, professional development, and internal advancement opportunities.
Work hours and schedules vary depending on the role and operational needs.
Many operational positions involve rotating schedules of 2 or 3 weeks. For flight crews, schedules are either based on a 15/13 rotation or structured over a 28-day block, during which they typically work approximately 15 to 17 days. For commercial operations, ground operations and maintenance, this often includes variable shifts (day, evening/night, and weekends) to support 24/7 operations.
In Nunavik, part-time roles are also offered, depending on local needs.
In administrative roles, schedules are generally more stable, sometimes with options such as one remote work day per week or a compressed workweek (for example, 5/4 or 10/9 schedules, where employees complete their hours over fewer days).
Each day for the maintenance team begins with a review of priorities: planned tasks, crew reports, and the operational needs of the moment. Technicians then head to the aircrafts: King Airs and Twin Otters that remain in the North, Dash‑8s that are maintained both in the North and in Montréal, and Boeing 737 handled primarily in Montréal.
On the tarmac or in the hangar, the team adapts to every situation: an inspection after a northern rotation, a quick repair between flights, or a specialized check before the next departure. With rotational schedules in remote communities and both night and day shifts supporting the fleet, flexibility is part of the job. Each aircraft brings its own challenge, and every intervention matters.
Whether they support northern operations or work on the Montréal-based fleet, all share the same mission. And when the last tool is put away and the aircraft is declared ready, one thing is clear: their work keeps communities connected, one well‑maintained aircraft at a time.
